Kolkata, Feb. 8 -- The Joint Forum of State Government Employees staged a fresh protest in Kolkata on Sunday, urging the Mamata Banerjee-led government to immediately release the 25 per cent pending Dearness Allowance (DA) as directed by the Supreme Court.

The protesters marched through central Kolkata, walking from Subodh Mallick Square to Rani Rashmoni Road, to highlight what they described as the state government's continued delay in implementing the apex court's ruling. BJP MP Saumitra Khan joined the rally, expressing support for the employees' demand.

Members of the forum alleged that despite clear instructions from the Supreme Court, the state government has so far failed to announce any concrete steps on disbursing the pending DA....
