Kolkata, May 4 -- West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose in a special report to the Union Home Ministry has recommended the deployment of Central Armed Forces in the border district of Murshidabad based on his visit there in the aftermath of the anti-Waqf bill violence that left three people dead, with scores of shops and homes looted, police vehicles were torched and hundreds were forced to flee their homes, official sources said.

Raj Bhavan sources said the Governor submitted the special report to Union Home Minister Amit Shah based on his observations there and his conversations with the victims as well as the kin of Harogobinda Das (72) and his son Chandan Das (41), who were lynched by a mob.
