Kolkata, Oct. 30 -- West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose, who is also the Chancellor of all state-owned universities, has approved the appointments of six permanent vice-chancellors (VCs), including that city based Calcutta University and Jadavpur University.
The announcement was through a post on the official X handle of the gubernatorial office.
Thereafter the state Higher Education Department issued appointment letters to the selected academicia after receiving files containing the Governor's formal approval.
The appointment will take effect from the date of joining and will remain valid for four years or until the incumbent attains the age of seventy, whichever is earlier.
