Kolkata, May 3 -- In a significant move to address the aftermath of recent communal unrest, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is scheduled to visit the violence-affected regions of Suti and Shamsherganj in Murshidabad district on May 5.

The visit comes in the wake of deadly protests against the Waqf Amendment Act, which claimed three lives and injured several others last month.

According to officials from the district administration, the Chief Minister will arrive at Berhampore Circuit House on the evening of May 4. The following day, she will address a public rally at Chhabghati KD High School ground in Suti before touring the areas like Dhuliyan and Shamsherganj that witnessed the worst of the violence.
