Kolkata, Aug. 22 -- Despite her decision to skip the inauguration ceremony of the three Kolkata Metro routes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today recounted how she had been involved in the planning and sanctioning of these routes during her time as Railways Minister between 2009-11.

"Allow me to be a little nostalgic today," Banerjee posted on her X handle saying "As the Railways Minister of India, I was fortunate in planning and sanctioning a series of Metro Railway corridors in metropolitan Kolkata.
