Kolkata, Aug. 20 -- West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today paid tributes to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 81st birth anniversary, saying she fondly remembered him.
The day is also observed as Sadbhavana Divas (Day of Harmony) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, India's youngest Prime Minister, who served from 1985 to 1989.
"Fondly remembering former Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi, on his birth anniversary," Banerjee said in a message.
The state Congress also marked the occasion with various programmes at its party headquarters in the city as well as in district offices.
