Kolkata, July 22 -- : The West Bengal Legislative Assembly is likely to hold a special session in August to address what the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) describes as growing "attacks" on the Bengali language and Bengali-speaking migrant workers in BJP-ruled states.

According to sources in the Parliamentary Affairs Department, preliminary discussions have already taken place with the TMC's legislative party on this matter, although a final decision is yet to be made.

The proposed session is expected to focus on two key issues: the alleged targeting of Bengali-speaking migrant workers in several states, and the labeling of individuals speaking Bengali as "Bangladeshi." A formal resolution may be introduced for discussion during the sess...
