Bengal assembly's monsoon session to begin on June 9

Kolkata, June 5 -- The monsoon session of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly will begin on June 9, with the House expected to introduce a resolution thanking the Indian armed forces for launching Operation Sindoor against terrorists in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

The operation was launched after terrorists shot dead 26 people, including 25 tourists, at Jammu and K Pahalgam on April 22, in Jammu and Kashmir.

An all-party meeting and a Business Advisory Committee meeting were held on Thursday in the chamber of Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee.

While several senior leaders from the ruling Trinamool Congress were present, the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was absent from the meetings.
