Kolkata, Sept. 4 -- The proceedings of the West Bengal Assembly were disrupted today amid fiery discussions between the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the opposition BJP, prompting Speaker Biman Banerjee to suspend BJP MLA Shankar Ghosh and Agnimitra Paul for the rest of the session.
With these three MLAs, including the leader of the Opposition Suvendu Adhiakri, were suspended during the special session of the Assembly.
The uproar erupted when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee rose to address a motion condemning attacks on "Bengali-speaking" people in other states.
