Kolkata, Feb. 20 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has alleged that the West Bengal Police is not handing over the case diary related to the Beldanga unrest, despite court directions, preventing the Central agency from commencing its probe.
Citing continued non-cooperation, the NIA has approached the Calcutta High Court seeking its intervention. The matter is likely to be heard on Tuesday.
The agency had earlier raised the same complaint during a hearing at the City Sessions Court in Kolkata, where the investigating officer of the Beldanga case was questioned on why the case diary had not been transferred.
