Kolkata, Nov. 20 -- Describing the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll as "unplanned, chaotic and thrust upon the government officials and citizens", West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday wrote to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar demanding the entire process be helted immediately.
Banerjee, in her letter, dubbed the exercise "dangerous and coercive".
"I am compelled to write to you as the situation surrounding the ongoing SIR has reached a deeply alarming stage.
