Belur, Sept. 21 -- Outrage erupted in Belur town today after miscreants desecrated the idol of Lord Ganesha at the Sri Vidyaganapati Temple by placing a slipper garland around it. The temple, located on the Belur Municipality premises, is a site of daily worship, and the act has sparked anger and shock among devotees.
Belur police promptly rushed to the scene and launched an investigation. CCTV footage reportedly shows an unidentified woman loitering near the temple, who has emerged as a prime suspect. Authorities are scrutinising the footage and pursuing additional leads to apprehend those responsible.
