New Delhi, Feb. 7 -- India is known for beer guzzling habits but it is not without its positive contribution to economic growth, jobs creation and support for allied industries like agriculture, hospitality and packaging among other, says a study conducted by Oxford Economics saying the beer industry contributed 0.3 per cent of the national GDP in 2023. The beer industry delivered a remarkable Rs 92,324 crore (USD 10.6 billion) to India's GDP in 2023, which represented 0.3 per cent of the national GDP. This is part of the Rs 76.45 lakh crore (USD 878 billion) poured into the global GDP by the beer industry globally.
