Chandigarh, July 23 -- A major beef smuggling racket was busted in Haryana's Nuh district, exposing a shocking underground meat trade allegedly operated from residential homes.

Acting on a tip-off, the Crime Staff (CS) team raided a house in Reethth village under Pingwan police station limits around 3 AM yesterday and recovered 710 kg of beef. A father-son duo was arrested from the scene, while seven other accused managed to flee.

Police officials revealed that the accused had set up an illegal "beef market" inside their homes, supplying meat across neighboring villages, towns, and even other states. They reportedly used motorbikes to make door-to-door beef deliveries. Eight bikes were also seized during the raid.
