Beed (Maharashtra), Sept. 16 -- The Maharashtra government has sanctioned an additional Rs 150 crore for the ambitious Ahilyanagar-Beed-Parli Vaijnath broad gauge railway project, bringing the total state allocation to Rs 2,091 crore.
Deputy Chief Minister and Beed Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar announced this funding boost as a special gift to Beed residents on the occasion of Marathwada Liberation Day.
The 261-kilometre railway project, estimated to cost Rs 4,805 crore overall, will see the state government contributing fifty percent of the total project cost amounting to Rs 2,402 crore.
