Bareilly, Dec. 23 -- : The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) on Tuesday carried out a major demolition drive against an illegally constructed marriage hall in the Faridapur Chaudhary area of the district. The structure, known as Beg Marriage Home, is reportedly owned by Wajid Beg, said to be close to Maulana Tauqeer.
According to the BDA, the marriage hall was spread over approximately 1,200 square meters and had been constructed without approved building plans or land-use permission. The authority had earlier declared the structure illegal and sealed it on October 6. After continued violations, demolition action was initiated.
