Shimla, Aug. 11 -- Bishop Cotton School (BCS) here would introduce new safety protocols for students after the armed abduction of three Class VI boarders last week - the first such incident in the school's nearly 170-year history.

Headmaster Mathew N John said no student, including seniors, would be allowed to go for outings or travel home without adult supervision. He added that police assistance would be sought in drafting the new rules.

Shimla MLA and BCS alumnus Harish Janartha, who also served on the school board earlier, told reporters that juniors up to Class V are accompanied by teachers for outings, while seniors in Classes VI to VIII go out in groups.
