BC reservations in AP local body polls should be proportionate to their population: leaders

Vijayawada, Sept. 14 -- A round table conference today demanded reservations for the Backward Castes in the local body elections on their population ratio.

The round table conference was organised by the CPI, in which leaders of various political parties, including the Congress and CPI(M), demanded reservations for the BCs in the local body elections.

Speaking on the occasion, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Vice-president Kolanukonda Shivaji underlined unity among the BC community leaders and people to achieve reservations proportionate to their population.
