Hyderabad, Feb. 4 -- Telangana Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt N. Uttam Kumar Reddy asserted that the Backward Classes (BC) population in Telangana has increased, dismissing the BRS's claims as false propaganda.
Discussing on socio-economic caste census report 2024 in the House, he accused the opposition of misquoting statistics and misleading the public with fabricated figures.
Reddy emphasised that the Congress government conducted a transparent caste-based socio-economic survey under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, ensuring the empowerment of marginalized communities. He dismissed the 2014 Intensive Household Survey (IHS) conducted by the BRS government, stating its findings were never officially recognized.
