New Delhi/Hyderabad, Dec. 2 -- Rajya Sabha MP and National BC Welfare Association president R Krishnaiah met union Home Minister Amit Shah in his Parliament office on Tuesday and discussed a wide range of issues concerning Backward Classes (BCs) for over half an hour.
Krishnaiah submitted a memorandum containing 17 key demands, urging the Centre to amend the Constitution to ensure reservations in education, employment and local bodies based on the population of BCs. He called for the introduction of a comprehensive BC Bill in Parliament and sought 50 per cent political representation for BCs in legislative bodies.
