Amravati, Nov. 14 -- Maharashtra Revenue Minister and Amravati district guardian minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed authorities to investigate the appearance of posters bearing the slogan "Vichara Islam" (Ask Islam) in Amravati city.
Bawankule has instructed the city police commissioner to submit a detailed report on the issue, stressing that those responsible for putting up the posters must face immediate action.
Terming the development "unacceptable," the minister said, "A few months ago, posters with the message 'I Love Mohammed' were displayed in some parts of the country and now similar ones saying 'Vichara Islam' have surfaced in Amravati. Nobody should take the law into their own hands," the minister said.
