Rajkot, Dec. 24 -- Riding on a brilliant batting performance, Bengal beat Vidarbha by three wickets here on Wednesday to begin their Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite campaign on a winningnote.
Batting first, Vidarbha scored a challenging 382/5 in 50 overs. Dhruv Shorey (136) and A Mokhade (110) were the pick of the batters.
For Bengal, Md Shami and Aamir Gani claimed two wickets each.
Chasing the target, Bengal went over the line scoring 383/7 in 48.5 overs. In reply, skipper Abhimanyu Easwaran (71 off 67) and Abishek Porel (56 off 35) gave Bengal a 100-plusopening stand.
