Bareilly, Sept. 29 -- Two more close aides of Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, president of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, were taken into custody, police said on Monday, after violent clashes broke out post-Friday prayers in Bareilly, adding to the simmering tension in the city.

Nadeem, considered Maulana Raza's right-hand man, was arrested by the police. Another close associate and former spokesperson, Nafees, was already detained earlier. Nafees had previously made headlines for a controversial statement in which he allegedly incited violence against the police, saying officers' hands should be cut off.
