Bareilly, Oct. 2 -- Authorities have suspended internet services in Bareilly once again, six days after violence erupted in the city.

The latest suspension began at 3 pm today and will remain in effect until 3 pm on October 4. The order was issued by Gaurav Dayal, Home Secretary in Lucknow, though it does not specify the reason for the shutdown.

According to local officials, intelligence inputs suggest the possibility of fresh protests following Friday prayers.

There are concerns that anti-social elements may attempt to incite unrest by pushing women and children to the front of any demonstration.

In response to these warnings, the administration has opted for a preemptive internet suspension to maintain law and order.
