Bareilly, Dec. 24 -- The Bareilly Development Authority (BDA) and district administration continued their crackdown on illegal constructions for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, demolishing the remaining portions of Beg Marriage Hall in the Faridapur Chaudhary area.
The property is reportedly linked to an associate of cleric Maulana Tauqeer. A BDA team had partially demolished the marriage hall on Tuesday. On Wednesday, officials returned to complete the demolition after the deadline given in earlier notices expired.
Heavy police deployment was maintained at the site to prevent any disturbance, and the area remained tense with a large crowd gathering throughout the day.
