Bareilly, Sept. 22 -- The Anti-Corruption Organization team caught a clerk from the Chakbandi department red-handed while accepting a Rs 5,000 bribe on Monday.
The incident took place inside the tehsil premises and led to chaos when the team tried to escort the accused out.
As the Anti-Corruption officials attempted to take the accused, Rajeev Mittal, out of the tehsil, some people present at the gate tried to intervene and rescue him. This caused a commotion and a large crowd gathered at the scene.
Despite the disruption, the team managed to drag Mittal through the crowd and into their vehicle. The accused clerk pleaded for mercy, claiming innocence and begging not to be taken away.
