Cannes, March 11 -- Acclaimed American singer, actress and filmmaker Barbra Streisand will be honoured with the prestigious Honorary Palme d'Or at the 78th Cannes Film Festival, scheduled to take place in May.
Her most famous and iconic songs include the chart-topping ballads "The Way We Were," "Evergreen" (from A Star Is Born), "Woman in Love" and "People".
The Oscar-winning music artist and actress follows in the wake of past honorees Agnes Varda, Marco Bellocchio, Jodie Foster, Meryl Streep, Robert De Niro and Tom Cruise.
