Lucknow, Aug. 13 -- The UP Assembly today passed the Banke Bihari Trust Bill by a voice vote on the third day of the ongoing monsoon session in the state.

However, the legislation will not be implemented while the matter remains sub judice. The Yogi Adityanath Cabinet had earlier approved the proposal before introducing it in the Assembly.

Under the Banke Bihari Act, there is a mention of the formation of Shri Banke Bihari Temple Trust. However ,the Bill is a copy of the Ordinance. But the Bill would be enforced after Supreme Court lifts the temporary stay on the Trust.

According to the ordinance, the trust will have 11 nominated and 7 ex-officio members.

The nominated members include 3 eminent members from Vaishnav traditions/sects/p...
