Shillong, Aug. 13 -- One Bangladeshi, part of eight to nine Bangladeshi armed intruders, managed to escaped after hurling an explosive at pursuing villagers in Majersora-Hathinala forest area of Meghalaya's South West Khasi Hills district.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when the Village Defence Party, who were assisting combing the Border Security Force (BSF) and Meghalaya Police to nab the intruders, spotted the Bangladeshi intruder hiding in a forested area.
"One of the explosives didn't explode, but the other did. Fortunately none was injured in the explosion, but the intruder escaped into the jungle," Banraplang Jyrwa, the district police chief
of South West Khasi Hills, said.
