Shillong, July 8 -- Meghalaya Police tonight arrested a Bangladeshi couple for entering Meghalaya without valid travelling documents.



A tourist taxi driver identified as Manik Das who was ferrying the Bangladeshi couple Mithun Khan (22) and Maria have also been arrested, police said.



The trio were arrested from NH-6 in West Jaintia Hills district as they were proceeding towards Meghalaya's state capital Shillong from Dawki, a border town along the India-Bangladesh border.



Meanwhile, police have seized the tourist taxi bearing Meghalaya registration number ML 05AB5923, even police have started their investigation.
