Agartala, Dec. 23 -- Security measures have been intensified outside the Bangladesh High Commission on Tuesday in anticipation of a protest organised by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, which was focused on the reported attacks on Hindus in the neighbouring country.
The area has been secured with three layers of barricading and more force from the police and paramilitary.
The Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala has suspended all visa-related and consular operations effective on Tuesday, claiming unavoidable circumstances.
In a statement, S M Almas Hossain, who serves as the First Secretary and Head of Mission, clarified that the suspension encompasses all categories of visa processing and consular services.
