Agartala, Dec. 23 -- The Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala has suspended all visa-related and consular operations effective from today, claiming unavoidable circumstances.

In a statement, S M Almas Hossain, who serves as the First Secretary and Head of Mission, clarified that the suspension encompasses all categories of visa processing and consular services.

The operations will remain on hold indefinitely, with no specific timeline for resumption provided at this stage. The decision comes against the backdrop of growing unrest sparked by recent protests outside the premises of the diplomatic mission.
