Dhaka, April 26 -- Bangladesh PM Tarique Rahman said that all restrictions imposed on government and police vehicles as part of the country's fuel rationing measures have been lifted, in order to allow authorities to oversee law and order operations with greater efficiency, and pave the way for smoother public movement.

Speaking in the parliament, PM Rahman outlined the directive in response to a point of order raised by Cumilla-6 lawmaker Monirul Haque Chowdhury, who alleged that reduced fuel had impeded police night patrols, which was leading to an increase in criminal activities and posing risks to public safety.
