Dhaka, Nov. 12 -- The interim government has once again extended magistracy powers for commissioned officers of the Army, Navy, and Air Force until February 28, 2026, effective from Nov 12, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.
Under the renewed order, commissioned officers of the Bangladesh Armed Forces holding the rank of captain or above will continue to serve as special executive magistrates across the country, reports BSS.
This extension would also apply to the serving army officers, who are working on deputation with the Coast Guard and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), allowing them to exercise identical authority during the extended period.
