Dhaka, Sept. 2 -- Bangladesh has sought 1.5 billion U.S. dollars in credit from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) under its climate policy-based budget-support program.
Officials said proposed budget support aims to strengthen climate policies as part of government measures for pursuing sustainable development objectives, leading English newspaper the Financial Express (FE) reported Tuesday.
As per the proposal, the first tranche of the credit is expected to be available by this year while the next tranche may arrive next year and the final one in 2028, said the report.
