Dhaka, July 6 -- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today stated that those seeking to delay the parliamentary election are neither pro-democratic nor supporters of the agitation in July-August last year that toppled the Sheikh Hasina government, media reports said.
"People want an election immediately. We have said this many times before, and we are saying it again," he said, the Daily Star reported.
Bangladesh is now being run by an Interim Government led by Nobel peace prize winner Muhammad Yunus, who has been appointed the Chief Adviser.
