Chattogram, Dec. 4 -- The Bangladesh Election Commission has formally requested an appointment with the President between Dec 10 - 11 for formalising the schedules of the proposed Feb 2026 elections and public referendum on the July Charter document, both of which will take place simultaneously.
The EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed confirmed the move this afternoon while speaking to reporters at a workshop organised by the Election Training Institute (ETI) in partnership with UNDP and the Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED), reports state media.
