Hyderabad, May 10 -- On the initiative of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has taken prompt action to evacuate 23 Telugu students who were stranded in the conflict-ridden region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The students, hailing from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, were studying at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) and had reached out in desperation as violence escalated in the region.

For the past few days, tensions have risen sharply in Kashmir, with Pakistan launching drone and missile attacks targeting civilian homes, government buildings, and army camps.
