Karimnagar, Feb. 8 -- Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has alleged a "serious conspiracy" behind the inclusion of Muslims in the Backward Classes (BC) list, warning that it would harm the prospects of Hindu BC candidates in Telangana.
Addressing a rally in Karimnagar on Saturday as part of the MLC election, Sanjay claimed that the 4 percent Muslim reservation introduced by the YS Rajasekhar Reddy government had led to BCs losing key electoral seats, including in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls. He questioned the silence of BC organizations and intellectuals on the issue.
