Medaram (Mulugu District), Jan. 30 -- With bamboo sticks revered as deities, simple platforms serving as sanctums, turmeric and vermilion treated as precious jewels, and jaggery offered as pure gold, the world-renowned Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma Maha Jatara continued grandly on its third day on Friday, uniting millions of devotees in deep faith and devotion.
The unique tribal festival, which venerates the forest goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma as people's deities, has drawn lakhs of devotees from Telangana and various parts of the country.
