Bengaluru, Feb. 9 -- Karnataka BJP President Vijayendra Yediyurappa on Monday accused the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government of indulging in naked political opportunism by deciding to revert to ballot papers for local body elections.
In a statement, Vijayendra said the decision was aimed at manufacturing distrust rather than strengthening democracy. "After repeatedly questioning democratic institutions at the national level with the 'vote chori' slogan, they now appear intent on recreating the same suspicion within Karnataka. This is not about strengthening democracy, it is about manufacturing suspicion where none exists," he said.
