Bhubaneswar, April 15 -- A baby boy who was kidnapped near Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar city late Saturday night was rescued from Balasore and handed over to his mother on Tuesday.
City Police Commissioner S. Debdutta Singh told reporters that the accused, identified as Kedarson Panda, was arrested in Puri. A woman has also been detained in connection with the case.
He said the 18-month-old boy, who was sleeping beside his visually impaired mother, Jayanti Mallik, near Ram Mandir, was forcibly taken away around midnight on Saturday.
Following the incident, the mother complained, and the police formed three teams to apprehend the accused.
