Ranchi, Feb. 20 -- On the third day of the Jharkhand Assembly budget session, leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi expressed support for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, stating that the exercise is essential to ensure accurate voter identification and purification of the voter list.
Speaking to the media at the Assembly premises, Marandi said the SIR process has traditionally been undertaken at regular intervals, generally every ten years, to carry out a thorough revision of electoral rolls.
