Jammu, June 26 -- The annual Baba Chamliyal mela was celebrated on Thursday with religious enthusiasm among devotees but without traditional exchange of 'Shakkar', 'Sharbat' with Pakistan along the International Border in Ramgarh sector of Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Thousands of devotees thronged the famous shrine of Baba Dalip Singh Manhas, famous as Baba Chamliyal for an annual fair but there was no traditional exchange of 'Shakkar' (soil) and 'Sharbat' (water) with Pakistan for the eighth consecutive year.
He said that the annual Baba Chamliyal Mela was held with religious devotion and festive enthusiasm at the sacred shrine of Baba Dalip Singh Manhas, fondly known as Baba Chamliyal.
