Azamgarh, March 7 -- Police in Azamgarh have busted a gang involved in printing and circulating fake currency and arrested eight people in connection to the case, officials confirmed on Saturday.
According to police, fake notes worth Rs 1.19 lakh were recovered from the accused along with equipment used for printing the notes, including a laptop, printer, A-4 size paper, a paper cutter, a car, and seven mobile phones.
The operation was conducted under the direction of Anil Kumar as part of a campaign to control crime and curb the circulation of counterfeit currency.
