Lucknow, Sept. 23 -- Samajwadi Party leader Mohammad Azam Khan was today released from Sitapur jail in Uttar Pradesh after spending 23 months in prison.

Soon after his release, Azam Khan said he would first get himself treated and then decide his future strategy.

"I have never harmed anyone, not even my enemies. No one can say anything bad about me," said Azam Khan, as he set out for Rampur with a convoy.

Responding to a question about whether he would talk to Akhilesh Yadav, Azam Khan said he was yet to speak to the SP chief.

Azam Khan said in jail he was not even allowed to make phone calls and remained isolated from the outside world for five years.

"All I can say is that every leaf and every plant knows my condition," he said.
