Bhopal, April 22 -- The District Returning Officer on Monday directed registration of a case against the Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhopal parliamentary constituency candidate Pragya Singh Thakur on the charge of violating the Model Code of Conduct through her statement - to a news channel - in the context of demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya, official sources said.
Collector Sudam P Khade had sought a reply from the nominee within a period not exceeding a day. As the response was unsatisfactory, further action was initiated.
