Bhopal, April 22 -- A first information report was registered against the Bharatiya Janata Party's Bhopal parliamentary constituency candidate Pragya Singh Thakur at Kamla Nagar Police Station late Monday on the charge of violating the Model Code of Conduct through her statement - made a couple of days back to a news channel - regarding demolition of the disputed structure in Ayodhya.
City Superintendent of Police Umesh Tiwari confirmed the development.
Earlier, the District Returning Officer directed filing of a case. Collector Sudam P Khade had sought a reply from the nominee within a period not exceeding a day. As the response was unsatisfactory, further action was initiated.
