Musunuru (Andhra Pradesh), March 13 -- Gourmet Popcornica Private Limited operates a highly automated popcorn maize processing facility at Musunuru in Andhra Pradesh, where advanced sorting and quality-control technologies ensure premium-grade kernels for cinemas and retail markets across India.
According to company CEO Yugandhar Yanamadala, harvested popcorn maize undergoes multiple stages of cleaning, grading and sorting before being packed for dispatch.
The maize is first processed through vibrating machines that separate kernels based on size and grade. It then moves to a gravity table where air is blown from the bottom while the surface vibrates, separating lighter kernels from heavier ones.
