Ch. Sambhajinagar, Feb. 3 -- Two people were killed and two others critically injured in a horrific road accident on Ahmednagar Road in Ch. Sambhajinagar in the early hours of Tuesday, police and fire officials said.
The accident occurred at around 01:45 am when an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers rammed into a stationary, broken-down tempo parked on the roadside. The impact killed the auto-rickshaw driver Rais Hashim Shaikh (35) and a woman passenger Rukmini Yenge (45) on the spot.
Two young women sustained serious injuries in the collision and were immediately shifted to Ghati Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Hospital authorities said their condition remained critical and doctors were making all efforts to save them.
